Chapter 46 - Looker

I dig my fingers into his waist and he jumps back away from me. I duck and run upstairs. “Come and get me.” I tease. Ben growls and runs up the stairs to get me.

I giggle and lean against the closed door of the bedroom. “Typical.” Ben laughs from the other side of the door. “Who’s the horndog now?” He asks.

“Who says I am in here to get laid.” I laugh. But I quickly kick off my shoes, pull off my pants and start unbuttoning my blouse, still holding the door to keep Ben outside.

“Ah please, Lynn. Can I come in?” Ben begs. I laugh again. “Are you sure about that?” I asks. “Pretty sure. Yes.” He replies.
I open the door.

His mouth falls open and he looks at my almost naked body. “You are definitely up to no good.”

Ben steps in the room and takes me in his arms. I fiddle with the button of his jeans while pressing my lips on his’.
He pushes me backwards towards the bed. I finally manage to pull down his jeans and boxers which causes him to nearly trip. I fall on the bed, pulling him with me.

I am still panting and rest my head on Bens’ naked and sweaty chest. “That was great.” I sigh and press a kiss just above his nipple,.
“Well, at least this bed doesn‘t creak.’ Ben says with a smile. His hair is damp and I wipe it from his face so I can look into his eyes. “It’s a great bed. Can we just go to sleep already?” I ask. Ben looks at the clock. “9pm. Sure we can. But I have to walk Theo first.” he says.
“I’ll join you.” I reply.

We get dressed and go down. Theo is already waiting for us. We take him outside.

The sky is dark and the cold air feels chilly against my cheeks. “I can smell the spring.” I say while sniffing the air.

“It’s almost March, so that’s possible.” Ben replies.

I can’t wait to see how the fields and groves around the house will look during summer. I am sure the poppies and cornflowers will be gorgeous.
“Ben, since you are a robot, do you think you are good with plants too?” I ask. “Of course I am good with plants.” He laughs. “Really?” I ask. “No.” He replies. “But I can figure it out. What are you thinking about?” He asks.

“Wildflowers, Poppies, Cornflowers and I want olive trees too.” I say without hesitation.
“You have thought it through?” Ben asks. “Yes I did. And I want a hammock between two olive trees.” I laugh.

“Glad to know that you are not that demanding.” Ben grins. “Not at all. I just know what I want. Remind me that I have to ask Erica tomorrow where we can get olive trees.” I say.

We walk back to the house. “Do you mind if I let Theo sleep on the bed?” Ben asks. “He is used to that.”
I shake my head. “Of course not.”

I brush my teeth and comb my hair. I look into the mirror in the bathroom. Ben is softly talking to Theo in the bedroom.
I smile at myself in the mirror. My heart is about to jump out of my chest of happiness.

“Goodnight my love.” I whisper to Ben. “Goodnight Lynn.” I give him a kiss and snuggle up to him.
Theo crawls down next to me on my other side, sighs and falls asleep right away.

The next two weeks are filled with painting and decorating the daycare.
Ben and I hardly have any time together. He and his dad are busy cleaning up the garden to get it ready for spring.
Erica donated two of her olive trees to us, so I can have the hammock I want so bad. I am so grateful for meeting people like her.

The daycare is starting to look perfect. The walls are decorated with Disney characters. But it will be even better looking once there are drawings from kids on there too.

I decided to name the daycare ‘Suerte‘. It fits the house and I am a very lucky girl right now. I hope ‘Suerte’ brings me all the luck I deserve for the next years.

I will meet the kids and their parents tomorrow. I arranged a get together at the daycare in the morning. So the parents will know where their kids will spend their days and the kids can get used to the place.

The girl that I hired will be there too. I met a few young girls willing to baby sit. I had to help them out of the dream that that’s not what it is all about.
We will have ten kids a day needing our attention full time. There is no such thing as watching TV or reading a book when the kids are here.

And then Inéz came along. A young petite Spanish woman. Her black hair down to her waist and her dark brown eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. She looks fragile and strong at the same time.
She used to work in a daycare. She knows what it’s all about.

I feel comfortable with her right from the start and I hire her that instant.

I did not ask her to come help at the get together. But she volunteered to help, which I could not refuse.

My hands are yellow and white from painting. The hands of Ben and David are brown and green from working in the garden.
“Such a perfect couple.” Ben laughs when he sees my hands. “I don’t feel like cooking tonight.” I say. My arms are sore because of the hard work.

“Lets order a pizza.” David suggests. I nod in agreement and so does Ben.
“I think I will be too tired to eat.” I yawn. “You should go to bed early and get well rested for tomorrow.” Ben says.

I plop down on the couch with Ben next to me. I lie my head in his lap. David and Ben are talking and I can barely keep my eyes open.
I listen to the deep voice of David and the soothing voice of Ben and I fall asleep.

I wake up to the smell of pizza and my belly is grumbling. “Welcome to the land of living.” Ben laughs. “What did I do?” I ask.

“You were snoring loudly and you did not wake up no matter how loud we spoke.” Ben grins. “But of course you wake up when the pizza arrives.”

“Food. Number 1 on my list, remember.” I laugh and get up from the couch to grab a slice of pizza.

“So, how did the day go?” I ask Ben. “The garden is almost done. I placed a fence around the grass in front of the daycare area. It‘s ready for tomorrow. You can let the kids play outside if you want. Ben says. “And the olive trees will be here tomorrow.” Ben continues.

“Now I really think I deserve a massage tonight.” Ben grins.

David rolls his eyes. “And I guess that is my cue to leave.” He smirks. “But I will take this with me.” David grabs one of the pizza boxes and rushes out of the house.

“I am going to take a bath and have an early night sleep.” I say when I’ve finished my pizza. “Goodnight.”

I give Ben a kiss and walk up stairs to get my bath ready.

It takes me not even five seconds to fall asleep when I am finally curled up under the blankets.
I don’t even notice Ben crawling next to me.

The next morning starts out awful when I wake up to the sound of rain bashing against the window. I am grumpy right away. We haven’t had rain for a long time. And now when I can’t use it, there is rain.

Of course.

I look at the clock. It’s 8am and I swing my legs out of bed. I slept for nearly twelve hours. I look at Ben. He is still in a deep sleep.

I take a look out of the window. The sky is grey. The clouds are dark and it’s raining really hard.

I quickly get dressed and go downstairs. I make a cup of coffee and sit down on the love seat at the window. Theo jumps next to me and lays his head on my leg. His big eyes look up to me as if he’s feeling sorry for me.
I stroke his head. “I know Theo. Isn’t it mean? No rain for weeks, And today on my big day, it’s raining.”
Theo is still looking at me and he sighs. I laugh. “Yeah, that’s what I thought.” I sigh too.

I have a quick breakfast and get ready for a long day of meeting up with kids and parents.
